Nintendo Wii U

In E3 2011, Nintendo has revealed the successor for their successful Nintendo Wii. The new console that was previously known as Project Cafe, Wii HD, Wii 2, Stream and Beam has now got an official name, Nintendo Wii U (pronounced: We You).

The main characteristics that can be identified in Nintendo Wii U is the "New Remote" (no official name yet). The new remote has a 6.2 inch touch screen in the middle. The screen can be used to display the same or different display from on the TV. The touch sensor will let new kind of games to be developed and playable on Wii U.

The controller come with a D-pad, two analog sliders, four face button (A/B/X/Y), four shoulder triggers (L/R/ZL/ZR), a + button, a - button, a home button, and power button. The controller also equipped with two speakers, a microphone, an inward facing camera, a gyroscope, an accelerometer and rumble feature.

There isn't many information leaked about the specs of the console yet, but from what have been confirmed, Wii U will have the ability to output a High Definition picture quality via HDMI cable. For games, Wii U will use a special optical disc. The console will also supports all previous Wii controllers. This is a good news as owners will not waste all the peripherals bought for their Nintendo Wii.

Nintendo Wii U will be showered with a lot of games from Nintendo itself. However, several big developers has shown their interest in Wii U. Several third party titles has been shown to be developed for Wii U. They are: Assassins Creed, Batman Arkham City, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Tekken, Ghost Recon Online, Metro: Last Light, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Darksiders 2 and Dirt.

For the time being, we only have to wait and see.
